35th annual Blackheath & Greenwich Amnesty book sale
Saturday 20th June 2009
9am until 5pm
Church of the Ascension
Dartmouth Row
Blackheath SE10 8BF
20,000 new and used books at bargain prices. Last year we raised a record-breaking £11,700 for Amnesty International UK. I’m not sure we’ll manage that again, but please come along and help us by buying a few books to read over the summer.
This sale is dependent entirely on the hard work of a small team of volunteers and generous donations of books. If you would like to help with preparing for the sale, or would like to donate books, please leave a comment using the form below.
You can also find us on Upcoming and Facebook. Flyers can be downloaded from flickr.
Please could you confirm opening time as printed as 10 Am start in Newshopper,
Thanks a Lot, Gill
Hi Gill,
I can confirm that the sale will start at 9am. The time in the Newshopper is wrong.
Jim
what sort of books do you need? I want to thin out and have quite a lot of old hard backs, historical and biographies, and a miscellany of others
I have quite a lot of old hard backs, histories and biographies and a miscellany of others, would these be of use to you?
Could you confirm the time the book sale starts on saturday, thanks?
Questions rather than comments:
When is your next book sale? May we deposit books now (we are having a cull and there are quite a large number) and if so where?
Boris: Thanks for your enquiry about the 2010 book sale. We haven’t arranged a date with the church yet, but I expect it will be the third Saturday in June again. We usually start collecting books about 5 weeks before the sale, so the week before the May bank holiday. If you can wait until then, we’ll be accepting donations every day at a garage we borrow in Dartmouth Row. I’ll post more details closer to the time.
Thanks to everyone else who offered books for the 2009 book sale. My apologies that we weren’t able to take all the books that were offered.
Jim
when is the next book sale due. I was told will be Nov, 2011.
